Narrative

My current role at the University is the Regional Academic Adviser for the Departments of American Indian Studies, Chicano Studies and Spanish and Portuguese Studies. In this position, I work with students on declaring majors and minors in the departments, exploring internship and practicum opportunities, assisting students with planning study abroad experiences, and reviewing program requirements. Throughout the year, I am a member of the Paso Al Futuro planning committee. Paso al Futuro is a bilingual-bicultural ceremony for our Chicano Studies Majors and Minors and for graduation Latino/a & Chicano/a students. For students looking for ways to get involved on-campus, I advise the student organization Spanish and Portuguese Across Cultures Organization. If you are interested in utilizing Spanish or Portuguese outside the classroom, this is a great club to join! We hold weekly conversation hours, volunteer activities, movie nights, salsa nights, study abroad panels and more!
